Mark Bindock was born in Bedford, Ohio, (Cleveland), on March 10, 1948. He attended Texas A&M on a track scholarship, then switched to the University of Texas in Austin, received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1971, and achieved his law degree from St. Mary's University in 1977. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1978, and later admitted to practice before the United States District Court in the Western District of Texas. Mark began his legal career with the Bexar County District Attorney’s office as a prosecutor, from 1977 to 1984.

Mark is also a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, and a member of many other legal organizations. These organizations include the State Bar of Texas, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, San Antonio Bar Association, American Bar Association, and formerly the Texas District and County Attorneys Association.
